The CCTV MAP is a non-profit project based in London, based on transparency and freedom on information. It is a free data gathering and sharing regarding the location of surveillance cameras. The purpose is to collect and share data that can’t be find anywhere else (there is no database of both private and public surveillance cameras). It is also to make Londoners aware of this intense deployment of technologies that they may not notice in their daily lives, that still raise questions. Finally it might be useful for those who don’t want to be watched, in order to protect their privacy, or even liberty of action.
